Hi. I'm Mattie.
I'm a woman. Wife to one pretty awesome dude. Mom of two little dudes. I love coffee. Seriously. I need it every day.
I started running in December 2013 because I was sick of always "wishing" that I could be that runner I'd see in my neighborhood. During my first pregnancy, I was still flexible and active and dancing. As in jumping in the air and rolling on the ground while 6 months pregnant kind of dancing. After two kids, that went away. I focused on my family while letting that other part of me go. It was time for me to be me again.
After much Googling, I came across the Couch to 5k program and thought "I can do that". I started and struggled during the running portions. In fact, I was surprised at how out of shape I was at that time, but I stuck to it. My hubby (aka Awesome Dude) signed up to do a 5k with me that would coincide with the end of the Cto5k program. That was the race that has led to my love of running.
